Waiting To Exhale

This is our cat Tigger. We've had him since birth, we even bottle fed him as his mother took off right after. He's 16 plus years old and I can't remember a time he wasn't around. He's not doing so well at the moment, very weak and not too responsive. I'm afraid he won't make it through the night. If he does, we'll visit the vet tomorrow and I'm afraid of what she'll say as well. I've been dreading this day for quite awhile now, he's an old man, he's lived a long and happy life, but that doesn't make saying good-bye any easier. Such an emotional decision, I don't want to lose him but I also don't want him to be in pain. My choice will always be what is best for him. I'm just not ready to be without him.

Just a reminder I have a weekly challenge (Tuesday's With Tula) going on over at DFF so please come on over and join in. The participation challenge is the alpha pictured below.

Just to show you I'm still scrappin' a page or two, here's one I finished (finally) last night using Jingles by Vinnie Pearce. I adore her kits, they are truly works of art. If you haven't checked out Pixel Canvas yet, you really should do so. It's a great forum filled with friendly people and fun challenges.

I got a bit of wrapping and laundry (Bleeck!) to finish up so if I don't see you tomorrow, have a very Happy Christmas and please be safe.

Love you tons,
Tigger's mommy

Four Days And Counting

Happy Holidays!

Sorry this is about to be so short but I am elbow deep in this store I'm trying so hard to design. Last time I had anything to do with developing a web page it was all in html, which was easy, but things are not like they once were. Bleeck. Eventually, I'll get it together. I do want ya'll to know I've been thinking about you and I put together a few early Christmas goodies for you. A little word art and an alpha. I hope you enjoy them.

I {Heart} Faces - Animal Style

I Heart Faces is definitely a favorite of mine and with this week being pet week, there's not too much that makes me smile more than a cute animal photo. I went to a Christmas show in search of a reindeer but found this camel instead.

Stop over at I Heart Faces for so many more cute animal photos. It'll make your day, you'll thank me later.

And Another Mask Monday 2 U

Happy Monday.
I am feeling a bit cranky this morning. Not quite sure why but I'm betting it has something to do with the husband and his oddities. I don't know about your husband but mine always seems to wait until the very last second to do things and I'm the one who winds up finishing the project, chore, whatever. It's my own fault, I suppose. After 30 years one would think I would know better than to expect any different. Grrrrrrr.

Wow, can you believe there are only 11 days left until Christmas? Have you finished up your shopping? Baking? Wrapping? I'm pretty much finished with the shopping, I have a few odds and ends to pick up. There will be no baking this year and, as far as wrapping goes, that's what they invited gift bags for. It's not really laziness, gift bags are much greener as they are reusable. Right? I've actually wrapped presents in the plastic bags I brought them home in because I refuse to spend a ridiculous wad of money on random wrappings. See what happens when I'm in a bad mood? I go off ranting on random tangents.

Anyway, here's today's mask. I hope you enjoy it.

Much love to ya..

Happy Rainy Day Saturday

It is pouring down rain here and I am loving it. I don't know about you but there's something about a cold, wet wintry day spent indoors curled up on the couch watching movies, looking through catalogs that's very comforting to me. It's wonderful.

I did put together a freebie for you. I'm putting together a kit, hopefully available by next week, depends on if I get my store put together or not. Anyone who has experience with Zen Cart, hollar at me cause I have no idea what I am doing.

I hope you enjoy this..

Have a wonderful weekend.

Rainy Days & Mondays..

Happy Monday!!
It's a tad bit chilly here in the land of sand and sun, a shivering 48 degrees and wet. I love rainy days and this one looks like it's going to be a good one. So good, as a matter of fact, it's dumping lots of lovely snow up on the mountains. It's so exciting that I've been contemplating a way to get the husband to take a snow day. Until I realized I don't own one single cold weather item in my wardrobe. The closest thing I have is a pair of loosely fitting torn sweat pants so thin in spots I can see skin. I don't own any footwear that could keep my feet warm and dry and, believe it or not, I do not own (or do I know any one who owns) anything resembling a parka. I live in southern Cali where it only rains maybe three times a year and the temp rarely dips below 50. I have clothes for warm weather. Flip flops, shorts, tank tops. Not ideal for a romp in the snow. Hmmmmmm, well, I'll either have to bite the bullet and simply deal with the cold or spring for clothes I'll probably never wear again in my life. Such a dilemma.

Over the weekend I was invited to join the Scrappity-Doo-Dah CT and I accepted. It's a fun forum loaded with cool scrappers and tons of challenges. Pop on over.

Here's a page I did for the Mockingbird Challenge. I used Pistachio Rose by Crystal's Creations.

This is my daughter Lauren. We met down in Pasadena for brunch at the Cheesecake Factory and to see The Half-Blood Prince. It was such a hot day she bought a hat for the walk back. I love the way these photos of her in the hat turned out. I miss her.

Thanks for popping in, I made up a couple of goodies just for you. This is my dog Pooder, isn't she gorgeous?

Hope you have a great Monday and I'll catch ya later.

Hey, It's Friday!!

And you know what that means, time for a freebie. You'll find them at the end of this post.

Hope you all had a wonderful week, mine was a bit slow but enjoyable. Any weekend plans? My Sunday is wide open at the moment, except I need to drop by the mall to pick up a couple pounds of See's Candy for Steven's boss. Maybe snap some photos of the Christmas decorations and Santa. If possible, I can talk the DH into swinging by the botanical gardens in Thousand Oaks. We'll see.

I did finish up a few layouts, finally.

Monday, Monday

Happy Monday!!

Do you have a wonderful four day holiday? I had a blast and I am absolutely paying for it today. My legs are so sore, I am so worn out through and through I can barely think straight. But, it was so worth it. Thursday, I cooked a turkey then went to see New Moon. I LOVED it!! It was so much better than Twilight and I even liked Twilight. It was fantastic. If you read the book, even if you haven’t, go see it. You’ll thank me later. Afterward we stopped by DH’s boss’s house to say hello and ended up having dinner. It was yum, they had the whole feast going and a gang of people. They were tons of fun and I just love their kids. Friday was the day of the long anticipated hike to the waterfalls and it was fabulous! We walked under a canopy of beautiful green treetops for about a mile until reaching the dribble, dribble, dribble of the falls. There wasn’t too much water flowing over the rocks and moss but it was still awesome. It was a bit of a tough hike for me being as I’m old and fat but I did it. And I’m pretty darn proud of myself. Go me! Saturday was a relax day, just a little grocery shopping and a visit to Target. Yesterday we went to The One of The Kind Christmas Show and it unquestionably was that. It completely sucked. They promised snow (okay, so there was a tiny, dirty, turned to ice patch of snow my dog couldn’t have taken a nap on), Santa & Mrs. Clause & live reindeer (no Santa, no Mrs. & no reindeer), the manger & three kings (I saw 1 wiseman), gospel singers (no), Christmas carolers (no), sleigh rides (no), spectacular light show (no), tree decoration competition (no) & train rides (no). There was a paltry little craft fair, two camels, two llamas, two donkeys and a few sad looking ponies giving rides. There was a few broken down carnival rides and someone singing Patsy Cline’s “I Go Out Walking”. That was it. I would have been really annoyed but it was for charity and I do know how difficult it is trying to put together a charity event. So, we cut our losses and headed to the beach. It was a simply magnificent holiday, I hope yours was wonderful as well.

I did want to post my Friday Freebie on Friday but I’ve just been flitting about enjoying myself. Don’t even imagine I was thinking about you , of course I was and here’s your Friday Freebie to prove it.

Sorry, this linkhas expired
I'll post the Monday Mask later tonight (when I get it finished).

BTW, my diet is going great. One month as of yesterday, no junk food, no fast food, no candy, no pie. My pants are quite a bit looser as are my undergarments. One more month until weight in and I'm pretty jazzed with my results so far.

Here's a few photos from this weekend, hope you enjoy.

Another Mask Monday

Happy Monday!

Wow, I had such a full and fun weekend. Dinner with the men, a wonderful night at a dinner theater and a day spend viewing presidential memorabilia. So enjoyable and just a bit wearing. I must say, losing just the little bit of weight that I have so far (which I have no idea how much as I refuse to get on the scale until January) has definitely allowed me to do much more physically without the feeling of utter exhaustion I usually go through. We walked up and down stairs both Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, my knees are a bit stiff and the muscles in my bum are sore but it’s a good sore. I did sleep in a little this morning and it felt so good.

Are you all set for Thanksgiving? I can’t believe it’s nearly December already. We picked up our turkey yesterday, so I’m pretty much ready for the small dinner we’re having. I’m very excited about Thursday cause the DH said we’ll go to the movies and I am really looking forward to seeing New Moon. My DD saw it on opening night at the midnight showing and said it was much better than the last movie. Can’t wait.

I’m all set for our hike to the falls on Friday. Just a short hike, about a mile, so I should be able to handle it. I’m so excited at both the physical challenge of it and the photographic opportunities. Other than my children, my favorite subject is nature.

I finished another layout last night. It’s been awhile since I’ve finished more than one a week. I used papers from Pretty in Plum by Crystal’s Creations. Love the papers. You can pick up this kit at Scrappity-Doo-Dah.

Here’s today’s mask. I love using masks, I hope you enjoy it.

And here are a few photos from this weekend. I’m trying to figure out how to shoot photos in the dark without flash. I’m totally striking out so far. Anyone with suggestions, I have a Nikon D50.
