Monday, Monday

Happy Monday!!

Do you have a wonderful four day holiday? I had a blast and I am absolutely paying for it today. My legs are so sore, I am so worn out through and through I can barely think straight. But, it was so worth it. Thursday, I cooked a turkey then went to see New Moon. I LOVED it!! It was so much better than Twilight and I even liked Twilight. It was fantastic. If you read the book, even if you haven’t, go see it. You’ll thank me later. Afterward we stopped by DH’s boss’s house to say hello and ended up having dinner. It was yum, they had the whole feast going and a gang of people. They were tons of fun and I just love their kids. Friday was the day of the long anticipated hike to the waterfalls and it was fabulous! We walked under a canopy of beautiful green treetops for about a mile until reaching the dribble, dribble, dribble of the falls. There wasn’t too much water flowing over the rocks and moss but it was still awesome. It was a bit of a tough hike for me being as I’m old and fat but I did it. And I’m pretty darn proud of myself. Go me! Saturday was a relax day, just a little grocery shopping and a visit to Target. Yesterday we went to The One of The Kind Christmas Show and it unquestionably was that. It completely sucked. They promised snow (okay, so there was a tiny, dirty, turned to ice patch of snow my dog couldn’t have taken a nap on), Santa & Mrs. Clause & live reindeer (no Santa, no Mrs. & no reindeer), the manger & three kings (I saw 1 wiseman), gospel singers (no), Christmas carolers (no), sleigh rides (no), spectacular light show (no), tree decoration competition (no) & train rides (no). There was a paltry little craft fair, two camels, two llamas, two donkeys and a few sad looking ponies giving rides. There was a few broken down carnival rides and someone singing Patsy Cline’s “I Go Out Walking”. That was it. I would have been really annoyed but it was for charity and I do know how difficult it is trying to put together a charity event. So, we cut our losses and headed to the beach. It was a simply magnificent holiday, I hope yours was wonderful as well.

I did want to post my Friday Freebie on Friday but I’ve just been flitting about enjoying myself. Don’t even imagine I was thinking about you , of course I was and here’s your Friday Freebie to prove it.

Sorry, this linkhas expired
I'll post the Monday Mask later tonight (when I get it finished).

BTW, my diet is going great. One month as of yesterday, no junk food, no fast food, no candy, no pie. My pants are quite a bit looser as are my undergarments. One more month until weight in and I'm pretty jazzed with my results so far.

Here's a few photos from this weekend, hope you enjoy.

Another Mask Monday

Happy Monday!

Wow, I had such a full and fun weekend. Dinner with the men, a wonderful night at a dinner theater and a day spend viewing presidential memorabilia. So enjoyable and just a bit wearing. I must say, losing just the little bit of weight that I have so far (which I have no idea how much as I refuse to get on the scale until January) has definitely allowed me to do much more physically without the feeling of utter exhaustion I usually go through. We walked up and down stairs both Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, my knees are a bit stiff and the muscles in my bum are sore but it’s a good sore. I did sleep in a little this morning and it felt so good.

Are you all set for Thanksgiving? I can’t believe it’s nearly December already. We picked up our turkey yesterday, so I’m pretty much ready for the small dinner we’re having. I’m very excited about Thursday cause the DH said we’ll go to the movies and I am really looking forward to seeing New Moon. My DD saw it on opening night at the midnight showing and said it was much better than the last movie. Can’t wait.

I’m all set for our hike to the falls on Friday. Just a short hike, about a mile, so I should be able to handle it. I’m so excited at both the physical challenge of it and the photographic opportunities. Other than my children, my favorite subject is nature.

I finished another layout last night. It’s been awhile since I’ve finished more than one a week. I used papers from Pretty in Plum by Crystal’s Creations. Love the papers. You can pick up this kit at Scrappity-Doo-Dah.

Here’s today’s mask. I love using masks, I hope you enjoy it.

And here are a few photos from this weekend. I’m trying to figure out how to shoot photos in the dark without flash. I’m totally striking out so far. Anyone with suggestions, I have a Nikon D50.

It's Freebie Friday!!

Happy Friday!!

Got plans for this weekend? Looks like mine is going to be jammed packed with things to do. Wednesday was my father’s birthday, yesterday was the husband’s birthday and tomorrow is my oldest son’s birthday (it also was my grandmother’s birthday), we decided to celebrate them all tonight by going out to dinner. Sounds like fun, doesn’t it? I doubt it will be all that exciting. One on one, each man can be fun to be around, all together though, they tend to be a tad dull. I like to take my time, have a cocktail, chat, have dessert and coffee, reminisce, laugh. They like to eat and leave. I will definitely miss the presence of another woman but my dear daughter is going camping. Just me and the boys. Oh well.

Tomorrow we will be attending a performance of “The Pirates of Penzance”starring the middle son of DH’s boss. George is absolutely adorable and I’m looking forward to his rendition of the pirate king. Afterward there is a buffet, I’m not too sure we’ll be attending but I’m sure there will be some form of dining out for us. If it’s at all possible, I just might be able to talk to DH into heading to the theater for a viewing of New Moon. I won’t hold my breath though, that could possibly be too much culture for one day.

Sunday morning we’ll be headed to the Reagan Library to take a gander at the “Christmas Around The World” exhibit with its 26 themed trees representing the countries President Reagan visited while in office along with other memorabilia. Even though the library is no more than an hour’s drive from here, I’ve never been. I’m so looking forward to this visit.

Then the afternoon will be devoted to loading the cart with groceries for next week. As my beloved daughter is heading to Texas for a Thanksgiving week with her in-laws, my darling youngest is in South Korea (planning a trip to Pusan to locate the temples my father visited during the war) and my strongly principled son (who refuses to see genocide as reason to be thankful and yes, I am very proud of his ethical values and his ability to stand firm against those who mock him), it appears the only ones for dinner will be the DH, the dog, the cat and me. Our feast will certainly be lackluster (I’m still on this enormously restrictive diet of mine), perhaps a small turkey, potatoes for the DH and salad. I do not miss the days of rising at 3 am to start preparations and being on my feet the entire day bringing together a dinner that is finished within an hour. A day at home, watching movies or reading is jim-dandy by me.

It’s been awhile but I have finally scrapped a few pages. I picked up a couple of kits designed by Crystal’s Creations and tossed a couple pages together. The first kit is called Azure Allure.

While I was over at Scrappity-Doo-Dah(such a cute name), I also grabbed this kit called Pretty in Plum.

Both kits are full of beautifully colored papers and fun elements. You can pick them up yourself here.

Before I go, I have a new goodie for you. I especially enjoyed putting these together because they are one of my favorite items to use while scrapping. I hope you enjoy them and I would love to see what you do with them. Please link a sista up. Also, contrary to all the rumors I’m sure you’ve heard by now, I am NOT allergic to comments, so feel free to leave a few. Remember, my links are only up for one week.

Have a super duper weekend.
Peace to you,

Mask Monday

Just a tad bit early, my tummy seems to be doing some protesting this odd diet so I'm headed to bed soon and maybe not return until tomorrow afternoon. A little Pepto, some tea and the heating pad, hopefully some relief.

I enjoy the look of soft grunge, I kept that in mind when I put together this week's mask. I hope you will use it and enjoy it. Please, I would love to see what you create with it. Link me up.

Brrrr!!

Happy really-early-on-a-chilly Saturday morning. A brisk 48 degrees here in beautiful south Cali. Feels like it's going to be a cold winter and I own absolutely no winter clothes. I haven't needed a jacket since last winter. I've needed to do some serious clothes shopping for quite awhile, I just don't want to stock up on a new wardrobe when I foresee a massive weight loss coming my way. I've made it two weeks on this crazy minimalistic diet and I feel thinner. I promised myself I wouldn't get on the scales until January 1st, it's too depressing. It's more about how I feel anyway, right? Time to break down and buy a few things though, can't really attend my friend's opening night in these torn up sweats I live in these days. Perhaps a letter to Santa is in order.

I've got a new kit in the making and here's a little bit I worked on tonight just for you. I hope you enjoy it. Remember, my freebie downloads are good for one week so grab them now.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Mask Monday #4

I am having the hardest time trying to download a few kits. Takes forever to finally download them then I try to unzip I get the corrupt message. Not too sure what's going on. Oh well, I'll try again tomorrow.

Week two on this horrendous diet I am on and I gotta tell you, I ain't hating it. The food is extremely restricted and repetitive which works for me. I'm kinda of a all or nothing type person, in the middle has never worked well for me. We shall see after this week is over.

This kit I'm working on is not working for me. There's no flow, I feel like I'm forcing it. Not sure what I'll do, probably have to scrap it (toss it) and start over.

I have a little goodie for you. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderfully week.

Freebie Friday

Happy Friday to ya'll.

Just wanted to drop in and leave you a goodie. I am just exhausted still and ready to literally crawl to bed. Hopefully the results of my blood test will answer the question of this bone tired weariness I constantly feel. We shall see.

Tonight's download is part one of my new kit entitled 'Blessings'. Hope you enjoy it, more to come. Also, I'll be leaving my other downloads up until tomorrow night due to my mistake earlier.

Have a great weekend
